I’m halfway through 異人山 by 高雲章, and I started the third short story in the collection 그날, 서울에서는 무슨 일이.

And I found a second mention of ramyeon in this short story! Good thing I left two pages for ramyeon! (all the others only have one page). I still don’t know how I should write the name of the dish on top of the page. I want it to look good, but I don’t trust myself to do a nice hangeul font :meow_nervoussweat:

I’m halfway through 403小組，警隊出動！by 顏瑜, this book is incredible, especially considering it’s a debut novel. It uncovers internal issues within the Taiwanese police system and has a very suspenseful plot too.

I finally started 403小組，警隊出動！by 顏瑜, and I love the beginning!

And I found the expression 焦头烂额/焦頭爛額 jiāo tóu làn è which means “under pressure” (from a heavy workload, etc). It’s an expression I learnt while studying the Archon Quest, and it was part of my Anki new cards from last week!! ✨

I didn’t have time to do much reading today, but still read some pages of 밸런스 게임 지옥 by 김종일. This book is so great, very fast paced, and there were a couple of unexpected turns of events in the pages I read today! :meow_paw2:

Sometimes there are books I genuinely adore but can’t seem to make any progress on… It’s happening with 硝子の塔の殺人 by 知念実希人 (Chinen Mikito). I really love the story, but I’ve been stuck in chapter 2 for what seems forever. Granted it’s a very long chapter, but I feel like I should be reading this one faster 🤷🏻‍♀️.

We’ll see if I manage to finish the chapter today.

Do you listen to books while on road trips? 🚦📚🚗

This past week, I drove a little under 2,000 miles across the country from Oklahoma to my new area in Massachusetts. Because of the style of this move, my partner and I took separate cars to get there which meant lots of time for audiobooks!

I listened to 7 very different books across the drive and started a few others that I hope to finish when I'm in an easier environment to focus.

I'm very excited to get to know my new area and involve myself with the community soon!

It's been a pretty great Saturday so far. I've gotten to do some kayaking, hiking, and reading today. Still working my way through Witchcraft for Wayward Girls and not for lack of proper storytelling. This is amazing, I've just had to take small mental health breaks from it!

I also got to read Stop Trying to Leave Me and Jackal over the past few days. Both were really great reads! I'm hoping to start listening to the new Finlay Donovan book today at some point as well.

Hi all!! I'm back! The sun is shining and we're having some spring weather which means my mental health is doing so much better immediately. Adam and I celebrated our 6th anniversary while I was away so enjoy a polaroid taken by our 4 year old niece!

I'm about to spend a full week in Arkansas so if any mutual #arkansasbookstagram accounts want to hang, let me know!
