The IETF (@ietf) has made a remarkable amount of great April Fools satire of their own technical documents. They're definitely worth the read: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_Fo.

RFC 2549 IP over Avian Carriers with QoS 1 April 1999

Weighted fair queueing (WFQ) MAY be implemented using scales, as
   shown:

ASCII art of a scale. On the left is a box in two segments, both containing the text "10g." On the right is a crudely drawn ASCII art of a bird facing right. There are two consecutive periods beneath the bird on the scale, representing something that is eluded to with the text beneath:

Carriers in the queue too long may leave log entries, as shown on the
   scale.

I created a `cat()` method that has no side effects. It is a purr function.

[Unknown artist] Nerdy dad joke 🤣

This illustration makes use of the double entendre of the techie word “cloud” to mean both a server farm and also those white-ish or grey puffy things up in the sky.

If this is not a good fit for the community let me know.

Edit: for people who can’t see hashtags, this is programming humor about a website (where people mainly only care about how things appear from the perspective of the end-user).

Oh, how we all yearn for the good old days when "not acceptable" was the default state of graphics programming! 🚫✨ Apparently, even the server couldn't handle the mind-bending grandeur of "Bindless Oriented Graphics Programming" and decided it was better off generating an error than dealing with this nonsense. 💻🙃

Ah, yes, because nothing screams "logical progression" like translating Shakespeare into a programming language that sounds like a medieval weapon. 🤡🔧 Rustling through your syntax errors has never been more poetic, nor more pointless. 📚💥

Oh, joy! 🎉 Another ode to the almighty null pointer, where we learn that catching them is as easy as catching a cold in winter 🌨️. But wait, the "Billion Dollar Mistake" is just a misunderstood little rascal 🙄, because, really, who needs memory safety when you have "individualelement mindsets" to blame? 😂👨‍💻

In a shockingly predictable twist, someone finally realized 🤯 that software might be a more practical solution than summoning mystical to tackle trivial tasks. The riveting revelation here is that, surprise surprise, actually matters! 🎉 Perhaps next they'll discover the revolutionary concept of "if statements." 🙄

Oh wow, someone wrote a novel on numbers in Python! 🐍📚 Turns out, you need a PhD in rocket science to time adding items to a list. 🚀💡 Who knew opening a file wasn't instantaneous? Shocking! 😱

I recently touched code older than some of my colleagues.
It still works.
It has no tests, no CI, YAML, and no opinions about architecture.
Sometimes I think we overcomplicated survival.
