The lord is the perfect example to follow in ALL areas of our lives. This includes ... How to pray & What to pray. Oftentimes would retreat to a private place, away from his apostles so he could pray intimately with his/our heavenly Father.
This is precisely the manner in which we should pray too: No public fanfare, but simple & sincere prayer to God. thru describes the important things we may pray about.

In Matthew 6:6, Jesus tells us How to pray ~ "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."In The Lord's Prayer, Jesus teaches us What to pray about ... "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
