Nach Reaktivierung des TPM-Chips und Secure Boot starten unter opensuse Leap 16 zwei Prozesse von VirtualBox nicht mehr automatisch und müssen jedes mal manuell gestartet werden. 🤔 Es nervt hart 😖 So tief wollte ich im Privatleben eigentlich nicht mehr in die PC-Welt eintauchen.

Something fun that I had to do this morning is troubleshoot my audio, apparently the pulseaudio and alsa were improperly installed and configured! That something broke yesterday after I powered down. Fixed that with some terminal magic.

Next, all of my window controls were messed up, switched my global theme and this mostly fixed things. I need to look into the system logs to see what happened with everything.

Okay, all that shit I talked on openSUSE Tumbleweed needs to be taken back. Now that it works smoothly, I can't even be mad about it.

Sure, my set-up process was longer than before and there were many update/reboot cycles. The system works smoothly, it's updated to Plasma 6.6, and doesn't have issues with NVIDIA drivers on Wayland. This is all that I ask for, which means openSUSE will be going on my Laptop at some point today. I will wait for all of my games to be downloaded first.

I should eat something after that longer than expected. However, I wasn't met with a lot of issues. Which means, I happy to be on openSUSE Tumbleweed.

Donc #opensuse à été la première distribution à permettre l'environnement de bureau #xfce en session #wayland grâce à #labwc , un compositeur pour gérer la dite session Wayland. Chapeau aux développeurs! Ceci étant dit, il reste du peaufinage à faire et je suis content d'avoir essayé labwc avec #lxqt avant et de comprendre où chercher les soluces pour pouvoir changer de clavier et avoir une barre de fenêtre acceptable.

The data sheet of my new an #AI focused mini #workstation from #HP mentions #Ubuntu 24.04 as the supported #Linux distribution. I have tried that, but I could not get the installer to run. However, 25.10 installed without any problems, even from an #openSUSE branded USB stick :-)
