I've always wrote on 3rd party #blogging platforms out of pure laziness and I finally decided to move to my own website.

I tried to use #Jekyll because I write in #Markdown and I wanted something very basic.

But it was a massive pain to get it to work so I ended up exporting to #HTML directly from #Obsidian and just adding the entries manually on my website's HTML.

Still WIP though.

Here's my (redacted) #PlainTextPlanner schedule from yesterday, in #Obsidian. I love the blending of mindfully entered events/todos with pre-scheduled tasks!

Also, it's super helpful to divide the day into 5 broad time blocks. 06, 09, 12, 15, 18. It gives structure and flexibility, and allows for easy shifting of entries between time blocks.

06 = 6-9 am, 18 = 6-9 pm.

@j2bryson I wish I could write emails directly in markdown. I currently have a clunky system of composing in #Obsidian, then copying via an extension that applies CSS I wrote, and pasting it into Mail's compose window.

Are there syncthing alternatives out there?

I need to re-establish my Obsidian setup after getting a new phone. The lack of ongoing support for syncthing on Android is giving me pause.

Kobo Highlights in Obsidian

This week I came across this plugin to get your Kobo highlights directly from your device and sync them to Obsidian. As of this writing you need to install BRAT to get it installed because it wasn’t in the official Obsidian repository for plugins yet.

To use this plugin look in your .kobo directory for KoboReader.sql file. Copy it’s path and you’ll need to paste it into the settings for the plugin. There are some settings around the formats you can change, but I left pretty much everything default.

So far no source of Kobo highlights has given me a location like you get with Kindle highlights, but you can always use a full text search to find the content and verify it if you need to.

Notebook Navigator to naprawdę świetna wtyczka do #obsidian ale po kilku miesiącach stwierdzam, że nie potrzebuje ani jednej funkcji.

Wolę też zdecydowanie prostotę i szybkość domyślnej przeglądarki plików. Bardziej intuicyjnie przegląda mi się klasyczne drzewko plików niż styl Apple Notes.

- See repeating tasks on the day, week, or month I've assigned them to

- See a calendar for the month, with each day / week a clickable link

- See tasks by category, time, creation date

- Enter tasks quickly on any device, without opening Obsidian

- Keep a list of someday tasks and ideas that don't get in the way of daily must-dos

- Smile, daily

Following is a list of things I can do with a no plugins, no Org or Emacs plain text planner, in Obsidian (with saved search queries). Honestly, why would I bother using a dedicated app or learning Emacs!

What about reminders? Vital events have an alarm or reminder set on my phone. For everything else, my habit of *checking the list every single day* works brilliantly. (thread…)

Obsidian

Ich benutze zwar nur gelegentlich Obsidian (mein Haupt-Notizsystem ist Upnote), aber das Plugin "Notebook Navigator" ist eine echt gute Erweiterung (zusätzliche Spalte mit Thumbnail und Notizanfang).

Hat - wie bei Obsidian üblich - 1 Million Einstellmöglichkeiten und soll eine Reihe von anderen Plugins ersetzen.
