This morning I've been reading Environmental Justice Lessons from California Wildfires by Kimberly Cheung in Intersect: the Stanford Journal of Science, Technology, and Society.

Noting dependency on refrigerated medication, battery-powered wheelchairs, assistive technologies, Cheung notes how emergency power shutoffs constitute a disaster before the disaster for many.
