#Glyphosate is the active ingredient in the herbicide #Roundup. In 2019, a meta-analysis by the University of Washington found that increased exposure to glyphosate boosts the risk of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer that affects the lymphatic system, by up to 41 percent. That link has also been alleged in tens of thousands of lawsuits. Just the day before the order, #Bayer — the owner of #Monsanto, which makes Roundup — agreed to pay $7.25 billion to settle thousands of these lawsuits. The pharma giant has paid out $14 billion for the damages caused by glyphosate.

The timing of Trump’s order is convenient. The Defense Production Act allows companies to be protected from liability lawsuits.

7,5 Mrd $ muss #BAYER in den USA für Entschädigung von #glyphosat / #roundup Opfer bezahlen. Wohlgemerkt das sind Dinge verursacht von #monsanto bevor das excellente BAYER Management diese Firma aufgekauft hat. Die Problematik war VOR dem Kauf bekannt.
