Instead of #Trucks1997, I followed up #MaximumOverdrive with #Blade1998.
Just before tonight's Monsterdon, I took a shower. The humidity was up. It was a bit warmer. I got comfortable and closed my eyes.
Note, I had begun drinking coffee.
Heat and humidity laughed at me. "Ha ha. It's like a womb in here and your mother drank coffee. Ha ha." An evil laugh.
Two hours later, I read the glowing reviews. What a great movie I slept through.
It is the first time on my private server (that I can recall or have noticed) when both the event and the movie title have trended.

The biggest problem with this film is the technology. Automotive technology, specifically.
In the 1980s and earlier, the term "overdrive" meant speed override, and today we call that "cruise control". And nobody thought to put sand in the gas during gas-up.

People who watched Maximum Overdrive, good job surviving the first Machine Apocalypse. You won't survive the second, and the soundtrack won't be as awesome.
I really love this film, it's just every obsession of King's in one place, even more than Tommyknockers (which is a much worse book & film). Sober King is probably a lot healthier but he's less fun.
That was a fun one! I don't think I've ever seen this from start to finish in one sitting, though I am sure I have seen it all in bits and pieces on some Turner network.
