In completely non-political news, I am excited that the #RiffTrax crew will be making a few new episodes of #MST3K now that the IP has been acquired by a company that actually wants to do something with it (and has a reasonable plan this time). Mike is probably my favorite host overall (though it's hard to pick); it'll be fun to see him play his old role again. I hope that the future of the show also includes the riffers from seasons 11 - 13; I really like most of them and I want more from them.

I've been rewatching #MST3k from the beginning and I just made it to the end of Season 4 and Manos: the Hands of Fate.

There's a definite quality shared between Manos and a few movies we've seen on #Monsterdon. It's the amateurish writing and dialogue, it's the oversaturated print, it's the thin film of grease over the whole production.

The Bat People had it, The Werewolf of Washington had it, but the one that really stands out is Godmonster of Indian Flats. I maintain that was our Manos <3

I knew #RiffTrax was doing new #MST3K episodes. (Yes, I'm backing it.) I did NOT know Joel sold his MST3K rights! I'm glad Mike's team gets another round with the puppets, but I hope Jonah, Baron, and Hampton get an opportunity to return someday. Their Gen X humor was *Italian chef finger kiss*.

Remember how a week ago people were freaking out about Joel formally selling MST3K to Shout!?

Well... it's not the result I was hoping for (a lo-fi Emily-led reboot), but honestly it's the best possible outcome.

And the people seem to agree, their kickstarter is currently at $1,121,703
pledged of $20,000 goal with 41 days to go.

And unlike Joel, Mike and the RIfftrax team have a good working relationship with Trace (Dr. Forrester), Frank, Mary Jo (Pearl Forrester), pretty much anybody from the original years aside from Josh.
