👁️💙 February is Low Vision Awareness Month.

Low vision exists on a wide spectrum and affects daily activities in different ways for different people. Awareness, accessible design, and supportive technology help people with low vision live independently and confidently.

This month, we celebrate individuals with low vision and continue advocating for accessibility.

So everyone is out here talking about code vein 2 's combat mechanics and all the regular topics you associate with souls like games.

Meanwhile I'm just like "is it ? "

Millions of people are blind or low vision. Most tech ignores them.

Cheri called Ally “unbelievably wonderful” because it actually removes barriers in her everyday life.

If you’ve never had to fight for basic independence, sit with that. We build so fewer people have to.

A five star review of the Ally app on the App Store from a user named cheributton. The title of the review is "Unbelievably Wonderful!!!" and the review says:

The first time I used this app I was blown away. I have never had such a useful tool to help me in my journey of blindness. Ally has bettered my life in multiple ways. Thank you for developing this app that lives up to all it says. And thank you for offering it for free.

Today, while on my daily 4-mile lunch walk, I took my new white mobility cane for the first time. It functionally made my walk easier because I didn't need to scan the ground in front of my feet the whole time, so I actually got to look around a bit and made eye contact with a few people, which was really cool. Also, it clearly signaled that I am blind to most people, which was, I think, a very positive change. Being blind seems to me to be clearly a part of what people perceive about me when I'm walking with my new white cane.

Accessibility should be free, reliable, and effortless.

Envision helps blind and low‑vision folks turn everyday moments into independence.

Grateful for our community and the trust you place in us.

A five star review for the Envision app from a user named Osibote. The title of the review is "This app lives up to the perfection of its name" and the review says "One of the best apps out there for visually impaired folks like me! The fact that it is now completely free, opens up to us a rich treasure trove indeed. Thank you for truly enabling us to envision the world. And, yes, it is flawlessly screen-reader (VO)-friendly too!"

Just received our second manufactured prototype PCB (Printed Circuit Board). This one is for a regulated power supply chip that we plan to use in our first accessibility product for blind people to feel visual art through a haptic pen-like stylus interface.

A green PCB (Printed Circuit Board) with a vertical column of 3 holes on the left and another vertical column of 3 holes on the right, labelled from top to bottom on the left as "VIN", "NC", "EN", and from top to bottom on the right as "GND", "VOUT", and "VSEL". The label "BCE Coop Inc" is printed in the right upper center. There are 5 rectangular chips on the board, including one very small rectangular prism in the middle, one large rectangular prism in the upper left, and two medium sized rectangular prisms, one on the left and another on the right. The two similar rectangular prisms are labelled "20ÎźF".

I have a question for my #LowVision friends because I sincerely haven't a point of reference. Why is the Calibri Font more preferable to TimesNewRoman? Thanks in advance for helping me learn.

Hot take? 1080p is just great. I can’t really tell the difference with 4K. However, I do have 20/40 vision (even with glasses) so that might have something to do with it 😂

This is your yearly reminder to install the "BeMyEyes" app on your phone.

"Be My Eyes connects blind or low-vision users who want assistance with volunteers and companies across the world through live video..."

Last year on New Year's Eve I received a call from a guy wanting wardrobe assistance for his evening dinner, as in which shirt fit better with his pants/suit. Love these small gestures.
