Sakonnet Lighthouse, Little Compton, RI, 10/14/2023. This “spark plug” style lighthouse was first lit in 1884, and has been beautifully restored and maintained by Friends of the Sakonnet Lighthouse. Took this photo shortly after sunrise from Lloyd’s Beach. Funny thing, it wasn’t until I went to edit the photo that I saw the people on it! A white cylindrical lighthouse with a red and black base stands on a small rocky island surrounded by water. The lighthouse has a red railing near the lantern room and a second platform with a railing midway up the tower. A metal ladder extends from the water up the side of the black base to the main deck. Birds are flying and floating in the sky and water around the lighthouse. The sky is clear and blue, and the surrounding ocean appears calm with small waves.

at least judging by outward appearance and adjacent land, this is one of my favorite houses, in Little Compton, Rhode Island, USA.
