Komentowanie pod cudzymi wpisami jest ryzykowne, bo można dostać bana. Na szczęście już od wielu lat ryzyko da się zmniejszyć i to w dwóch krokach.

Pierwszym jest zastanowienie się, czy w ogóle mamy coś sensownego do dodania. Najczęściej nie mamy, więc sprawa jest prosta - nie komentujemy i ryzyko spada do zera.

Drugim jest przeczytanie bio użytkownika, gdzie mogą być jakieś wskazówki. Jeśli są, czytamy, zastanawiamy się, czy potrafimy przekazać nasz punkt widzenia zgodnie z tymi wskazówkami. Jeśli tak, zauważalnie minimalizujemy ryzyko.

Oczywiście można też zrobić tak, jak pewien osobnik parę godzin temu u mnie - nie pomyśleć, nie przeczytać, tylko napisać bełkot o "zielonym komunizmie" oraz powielić jakieś dawno obalone przez naukę bzdury.

Biorąc pod uwagę zestaw zaprezentowanych poglądów mogę przypuszczać, że nawet lektura bio niewiele by pomogła, ale kto wie, może gdzieś ta samotna szara komórka doznałaby olśnienia i wysłałaby komunikat "nie będę pisał komentarza".

Rzecz jasna zdaję sobie sprawę, że przeczytanie bio to dla części osób może być olbrzymi wysiłek - w końcu trzeba kliknąć, złożyć do kupy te robaczki i tak dalej, a po co na to tracić czas, skoro można stracić okazję do rozwiania wątpliwości. Mimo to zachęcam, ta odrobina wysiłku może być całkiem niezłą inwestycją.

Important KF bug fixes may still be released from time to time, but I do not have enough time to implement the #BilinearApproximation (#BLA) optimisation in this project.

BLA is much better than #SeriesApproximation and #BivariateSeriesApproximation (which is called NanoMB1 in KF), in terms of efficiency of calculations, generality of applicability, simplicity of implementation, and robustness of results.

Someone has enthusiastically forked #kf #kf2 #KallesFraktaler #KallesFraktaler2 (which I forked from the original in 2017 or so) and started a lot of the boring work to separate the engine from the graphical user interface, opening the door to alternative GUIs on non-Windows operating systems (even though it worked in Wine, that was limited to x86_64).

Unfortunately due to the lack of documentation on my part some of the commits caused problems and I had to revert, but the majority was fine. I started a branch for kf-2.16, because I still want to fix some bugs in the 2.15 series.

I haven't tested the Linux version yet, but the Windows version seems still to work fine in my brief tests.

Important errata notice for kf-2.15.5

There is a severe bug in scaled double rendering in conjunction with the new single reference method which causes bad images: recommended workaround is to disable Rescaled Double in the Number Type Selection dialog accessed from the Advanced menu.

Impact of the workaround: it'll slow down a bit beyond e300 or so, especially for exceedingly deep zooms beyond e4900 or so. (But it will probably still be faster than using the multiple reference methods with glitch correction after the fact.)

I wrote exrmean because I found a way to emulate Fragmentarium-style multiple #subframe #antialiasing with #KF: render a zoom out sequence with the zoom size set to 1 (so each image shows the same location).

With jitter enabled, the pseudorandom seed for subpixel offsets is incremented each frame, so the images will be slightly different.

Averaging them all (in linear light, as used in EXR) will give a final image with higher quality than any individual frame, without having needed to render a huge image and downscale it (the previous option).

Enable "reuse reference" to avoid calculating it each subframe (unfortunately the series approximation is recalculated, which is not optimal).

Probably better than using vast amounts of temporary space for EXR files in this method would be to extend KF to do the subframe rendering itself. That'd be much more work than this quick hack though.

IMO Zhuoran's new method is the most significant development in the field of rendering #fractal #fractals using #perturbation techniques since Pauldelbrot's #glitch detection heuristic. Instead of detecting glitches and correcting them later with multiple high-precision references, this method avoids the glitches in the first place, and all using only one high-precision reference for the whole image. Correct images faster and more efficiently, what's not to love?!
