August 3, 2013: another pleasant day hiking through the Vermont woods. Not much exciting happened. I got to the shelter fairly early, and had a relaxing afternoon there.

August 2, 2013: it wasn't raining any more, but everything was wet as I packed up. Packing up a wet tarp is no fun.
Glastonbury Mountain had a lookout tower where I stopped for lunch. It was the best view of the day. The rest of the hiking was in the forest with the occasional glimpse through the trees. I should probably get used to it, tree line gets higher the farther south I go.

A selfie in a lookout tower. Everything nearby is forest, and a few mountains are visible in the distance. I am wearing a dark blue fleece, and my hair looks like it hasn't been washed in a long time.

July 26, 2013: I had been told about a pie stand just off the trail, so that provided a lot of motivation today. The trail has been a lot easier than in New Hampshire, many fewer rocks and roots.
I stopped for a second breakfast at a general store, then continued in the verdant hills. Sadly, by the time I got to the pie stand they were out. 😢 I got something else, and then headed up to the shelter.

Located in the #BreadloafWilderness of the #GreenMountainNationalForest, its summit is in the town of #Lincoln in #AddisonCounty.
