Why kissing persists remains a question. Kissing is far from universal in human cultures, and its possible costs — most notably, the spread of disease — seem to outweigh any obvious survival advantages. Yet several theories persist. Some researchers propose that kissing could help individuals detect subtle chemical signals related to health, immune compatibility, or even the microbial makeup of a potential partner.

I have my suspicions about possible reasons, but I'm not a scientist, so I refrain from sharing them. Now excuse me for a moment, I need to do my own research.

#aarch64 builds of @binjr are coming, and I have proof!

But the amusing fact(*) about that screenshot, is that it shows an aarch64 Linux Java Virtual Machine running on an x64 Windows host and ultimately rendering in a native window on the host's desktop.
It's not very fast, obviously, but given the amount of layers it has to go through, it is kind of mind blowing that it actually works pretty much seamlessly:
Windows 11 ➡️ WSL ➡️ Debian bookworm ➡️ qemu ➡️ OpenJDK-24 JVM ➡️ JavaFX ➡️ GTK3 ➡️ X11 ➡️ RemoteDesktop ➡️ GDI ➡️ Windows.

And why would you want to do that, I hear you ask? Well, that's the neat part: you don't! (Seriously it's pretty daft. Don't do that).

(*) It has been brought to my attention before that my personal notion of what constitutes an "amusing fact" isn't wildly shared amongst the general public. You have been warned.

Well, technically it is a square crumpet, but you get the idea. The golden-brown, crunchy-cratered, surface of the toasted square crumpet is barely visible beneath its chosen, overlapping, condiments. Above the creation, three pink circles hover in a Venn Diagram of Peanut Butter, Honey, and Vegemite. All circles overlap equally. Don't judge me! For science!

So mixing Cola and Fanta is called a “Spezi” in Germany and the result tastes great and better than each component individually.

Using this principle I now tried cobining a Vanilla Cola with a Club Mate. #ForScience

Sadly the results are not convincing and I don’t recommend that people who I like bother with it. 😞

Gave this wartrike an oil wash with linseed oil instead of white spirits.

The room now smells slightly nutty and I can lick my fingers clean provided there's no oil paint on them lol, but I'm curious how long this'll take to cure!
