I am pleasantly surprised how motivating Focus Friend is. It's just so dang cute!
Plus they don't collect data, are ad free for everyone including free tier folks, and have a "lifetime" option if you don't want to subscribe.

I gave #focusfriend a try and while it is very adorable and I can see myself letting it run in the bg of things to decorate, I have to say the Flomodoro method of #Focumon is still overall more helpful to me.
Focumon is web based atm but an app is in development! :D
Curses. I forgot to enable Focus Friend when going on a Teams call. Missed 30 minutes of Beanie knitting!
I didn't hear of John Green's ADHD focus app until just now - it may not be that strange since I'm not in the target demographic, but I know a lot of people in my fedi bubble are & in that case, apparently Focus Friend is pretty neat 😊
Also, FWIW we should take some hope from what it says about the world that this brand new, ad-free, actually helpful app made by a bunch of nerds raced directly to the top spot in the app store.
