I'm definitely experiencing some nerd cognitive dysfunction. After nearly two years on the boat with stable connectivity using a FRITZ!Box 6850 5G router I've had a week of intermittent and protracted outages. Some appear to be the closest cell tower going offline, some seem to be network backhaul (strong signal, low latency, sod all data transfer). Without data I can't work, we can't watch TV, download music, we're pretty fsckd really. Mobiles don't work in the boat (because its a metal box) so I spend a lot of time swearing, swapping out SIM cards and generally being angry. What bugs me most is tech is supposed to be my thing. Connecting us is what I'm good at, and I'm sucking at it, and that's really doing my head in!

App was back online this morning. Pleased my memory didn't completely fail me. Only missed 3 items I'd have passed on anyway:
Potato chips—no flavors I wanted
Ketchup—forgot I still have a large new bottle, don't need a new one yet considering we don't use a lot of ketchup at home
Hummus—wife didn't want more right now, and I don't like hummus
This user interface is so bad!
How bad is it?
It's so bad that I had to fill in the same information more than once, and I had to click more than one thing to do one action.

The main problem with the drone shooting photos at 48 megapixels is that the resulting photographs are a bit too large to share without editing them down to size. #FirstWorldProblems #WhineWhineWhine
We are only on Maui for 48 hours. It has rained almost the entire time since we arrived, and the storms are expected to get worse until well after we leave.
The tea package may say "Moroccan Mint" but the dominant flavour is "Rancid Hay".

Finally get into the work zone, typing away, getting things done. Smart thermostat decides lack of motion means I'm not here. Freezes me slowly, takes time to notice. Now so cold my fingers are numb. #firstworldproblems
I now have an itch to pick #Nioh2 back up (I never finished it), but I know it would mess up my #MonsterHunterWilds muscle memory just before the last update drops, so I guess I will have to wait a few weeks.
The tech took a look at the issue this morning and said that she thought the fiber connection at the Network Interface Device (NID) on the exterior of the house was bad, so she respliced the fiber line and reconnected it. Hopefully that fixes the problem. 🤞🏽
Regarding the Home Internet Backup Service, I couldn’t get it working reliably with my work laptop. 😞
It appears to have gone down again overnight, possibly about 15 minutes ago.

I called T-Fiber’s support line, and they’re going to send a technician out tomorrow morning to look at my connection and equipment, plus they gave me a $20 credit off my next bill.
And it’s up again!
I went over to the T-Mobile store to talk to them about it and of course they couldn’t help me because they only do wireless, despite having T-Fiber advertisements all over the place. They did sell me their backup 5G service for an extra $20 per month, though.
And down again (about 15 minutes ago)!
