From last weekend, a rare dose of sunshine at broadmeadow estuary, which makes this lonesome seagull look radiant.

A photograph of a lone seagull floating on the surface of an estuary. The water is quite blue, bluer than usual, should be a miserable brownish colour, might have been the polarising filter I was using.

The event is now over...and it's been amazing! Here are a few snapshots of the eco-crafting activity we proposed: The Planet Wall. Today's Swap&Play event in Blanchardstown Library is part of a series of events we will be running in #Fingal Libraries in 2026.

Other activities include:
• Plastic-free, non-toxic, and vegan temporary tattoos
• Floor mandala made of 100% natural materials
• The highly appreciated Teddy Bear Hub, for some TLC to children's soft toys
• ...And more themed activities!

Picture of a child's drawing with big Stabilo crayon on a craft brown paper. Kid is wearing a striped white and orange jumper. His drawing pictures a smiling face whose hair seem a rainbow and underneath is the word "Happy" in blue.Drawing of a hand-drawn Pikachu (Pokemon character) on craft brown paper. The picture shows the hand of a kid holding a yellow Stabilo crayon still working on the drawing.Picture of a kid's drawing on craft brown paper. The picture shows the arm of the child and his hand holding the red crayon. The drawing represents two childish characters with sticks arms and legs, one bigger than the other. The big one has curly short hair. None of them has eyes, but the big one has a very big smile!Picture from above of the craft paper with all drawings made by the children participating in The Toy Library Swap&Play event. On the top-right side we can see the Earth drawing made by one of The Toy Library volunteers, and next to it on the left the one that has been replicated by one of the children taking part to the activity. We can also recognise the Pikatchu drawing and the red childish characters on the left side of the picture. On the bottom-right side is the box with all the Stabilo crayons used by the kids!

The Fingal CC offices in Swords make for a great subject, I don't think I'd appreciated it enough before.

A photo of reflections in a curved window. The main subject in the image is a bicycle leaning against an inverted U-shaped bicycle rack, five of the racks are visible, though it is not clear how many are real and how many are reflections. behind the bicycle is a large stainless steel bin, looking entirely too expensive if you ask me. Towards the top left of the image is reflected, framed by black gates, a yellow liveried ESB Networks van is visible; vans are the common trades vehicle in Ireland, only brain-dead Garth Brooks fans have pick-up trucks. Towards the top right of the image just to the side of the trunk of an oak tree can be seen two creepy wooden statue; be thankful you can't see these abominations in detail.

A photograph of a sky blue door in a stone wall, the centre of the door contains a white Fingal county council site notice relating to planning permission. The door is incongruously boxed in by a short concrete wall in front of it. The top of the image contains dense woody foliage from the premises beyond.

Black & White photography of a curved glass building. On the left-hand side of the image is a large oak tree, the right-hand side is mostly taken up with the curved glass wall of Fingal County Council's offices in Swords. The centre of the image contains a man in a mac walking away from the building towards the camera. The glass is awash with reflections, many of which are being cast by the oak tree, but of note is that the man is reflected in not one but two panes of the glass wall. The bottom of the image contains wet paving, there are reflections of the oak tree towards the lower right-hand side in said paving.

A black & white photo of a flock of birds (of unidentifiable species) flying over an estuary (Broadmeadow Estuary, Fingal, Dublin, Ireland). The lower half of the image is the water of the estuary with a rippled surface. In the horizontal middle a large hedge can be seen which extends right across the scene. The centre of the image contains a white house poking above the large hedge. Above that is the flock of birds which extends across most the image, behind the birds is an expanse of grey cloudy sky.

There is a lot of maths in this article all of which is contingent on the mistake that there are 42 councillors on Fingal County Council. Dear reader the true number is 40...

Really enjoyed attending the Lusk Town Centre workshop last night at the Saint Macullins Centre. It was a really productive evening, with so many great ideas being shared about how we can shape a vibrant future for Lusk.

Thanks to everyone who organised and attended—a community's voice is so important! #Lusk #CommunityDevelopment #Fingal #TownPlanning

Another weekend of exploring our neighbourhood and this time we ventured over to Newbridge House. Today was a quick Darwin walk but will definitely be back!
