𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱
𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: March 24, 2025
World Tuberculosis Day is observed every year on March 24 to raise awareness about the global impact of tuberculosis (TB). This day marks the anniversary of Dr. Robert Koch's discovery of the bacterium causing TB in 1882, a significant milestone that paved the way for diagnosing and treating this disease.
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:
- TB remains one of the world's deadliest infectious diseases, claiming over 4,400 lives daily and infecting around 30,000 people.
- Despite being curable and preventable, TB continues to affect millions, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
- The theme for 2025 is "Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver," emphasizing the need for global dedication and action.
𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀:

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲:
- Educate yourself and others about TB symptoms and prevention.
- Advocate for increased funding and resources for TB treatment and research.
- Share your commitment to ending TB on social media.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗕:
- Persistent cough for three weeks or longer
- Coughing up blood or mucus
- Chest pain during breathing or coughing
- Unexplained weight loss
- Fatigue and fever
- Night sweats
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀:
- Minimize contact with individuals who have active TB.
- Maintain good hygiene practices.
- Strengthen your immune system through a healthy lifestyle.
- Complete prescribed TB treatment to avoid drug resistance.
