#FallOfCivilizations

@Mikeini That does sound really cool! It depends, because I don't really have a genre for podcasts. #Gastropod, #FoodChain and #JapanEats! are great food casts. #FallOfCivilizations and #TidesOfHistory are great for History. I deeply miss #Overunderstood. So many science podcasts (#ScienceVs. #Sidedoor, #ScienceInAction). BUT, wish more people listened to Short Cuts. It's about everything and nothing, and comforts me enormously at times.

The sun is low
Guardians rust
Storms build
Supplies flicker
Despair spreads
Hollow strongmen promise assurance

Quarantine Control #294: Twisted and Prophetic Civilizations
You could say that's every civilization, if you want to be a little sarcastic.

I remember stumbling across this episode of the Fall of Civilizations podcast on my first night home after discharge from the hospital. Oddly enough, it was one of the things I was able to follow in all the brain fog I was experiencing at the time.

"Why are you so interested in the #drone #MassHysteria ?"

this article sums it up:

"the polio vaccine in the 1950s was greeted with ringing church bells, with its inventor, Jonas Salk, routinely being greeted with applause and handshakes when he was seen in public"

"By contrast, Anthony Fauci, the face of the US response to the Covid pandemic, requires round-the-clock security protection due to ongoing death threats, even after his retirement."

@bob thx for sharing!

Not sure if you've heard of #fallOfCivilizations, but it's an awesome YT/podcast series which, if you like this, would likely enjoy as well.

@CyberpunkLibrarian Had a similar feeling after listening to the #FallofCivilizations podcasts... timelines that cross over between civilisations and podcasts...

Have been listening to the Fall of Civilizations podcast recently (it's really good) & can't help note parallels with the Twit-pocalypse. Generally it isn't a single event that ends a community but more a culmination of pressures that leads to a collapse and exodus. Not equating the impact of Twitter's demise to that of a collapsing civilization just interesting parallels in how it's happening & weird that it's near real time rather than decades or centuries. #Twitter #FallOfCivilizations
