I want to share a small but meaningful side project I’ve been working on.
I’m happy to introduce **Looi,** a minimal, customizable new tab page for **Firefox & Chrome,** with **widgets** and **GitHub-based sync**.
The name ***Looi*** comes from our first pet, who’s no longer with us.

First I've recently seen mentions on mosaic layout drafted by Thomas Bernhard https://blogs.gnome.org/tbernard/2023/07/26/rethinking-window-management/

This reminded me about minimizing windows or the lack of it by default. You can hide a window, but as soon as you alt-tab it's back on the menu. I'm accustomed to the behavior, although it's not ideal.
What if we had a "put into background" button instead of minimize? Windows are moved to the lowest layer right above the background. They are shown in overview less prominent and you cannot alt-tab to them. You have to explicitly select it to get focus and in front.
Wonder whether there's an #extension already?
