In the last couple of days our Samsung Smart TV has been excruciatingly slow when switching streaming apps or just getting out of an app. Doing web searches says that this is a big and common problem. This TV worked great three months ago. It’s about 4 yrs old.
After getting rid of a lot of apps, I’m currently playing around with DNS settings to block tracking and ads #enshitification
I read an email from a friend and had a revelation.
She said she's got tons of work and will send me a decent message at the weekend. It ended with: Sent from my iphone.
Sent from my iphone. That's the kicker, that's where my revelation came. Remember when that was kinda cool? Any app bought by her on that phone will have had 30% of her money taken by Apple. I'm on an Android so Google takes a similar % from me.
We're all working for them, no wonder we have no time!

I can not get an app to run that I installed from the #aurora store because #googleplay interrupts the app at launch and give me a bullshit "we want to protect you, please install this with our spyware". Is there a way to turn this "feature" off? I have Samsung Galaxy s10e running #android 12.
I will be much more careful in my future purchases. #scroogled again :(

I wonder if the intense lobbying by the #GenAISlop #TechBros I’ve already tooted about (A @camwilson ’s Article in Crickey News) has had its desired effect on Govt for less regulation (and presumedly no #Guardrails). Judging by this latest news (#ABC) it seems it has and the ‘govt’ is drunk on the #Kool-Aid. I guess this all means #Enshitification is not over yet and we’re in for more of the #AISlop as well as more $$ sunk into the #AIBubble. Straps yourselves in, the ride ain’t over yet!

I had a nightmare I was trying to get to a photo on my phone but every time I went to try and open the photo reel it would just play ads and I could never get past them.
The manipulation in big company products is so devilish at times. Here's Google business management. It constantly hounds me that there's something missing from my business profile.
You may think to yourself: maybe it's just some address information or something? Maybe a fresh profile picture?
No. It's missing me spending advertising money so I could cash in their 400€ free ads offer.
It obviously tries to play on peoples' completionist instinct to fill that missing 12% of my "profile strength".
EDIT: It says you can't complete your business profile without using Google Ads, but if there's a way, it's not obvious. There's nothing in the 3 dots nor the link it pushes in the blue button.
