Today was a killer! 😆 love the ref!!! But holy! This many ppl in one drawing? Took me quiet some time. That’s why today stays rougher than usual, which, is fine. I like how it turned out 😊

The art is my take on The Unequal Painting by Vasily Pukirev, depicting a wedding scene following the rites of the Orthodox Church. In a shadowy church, the light coming from a window primarily illuminates three figures: the groom, the bride, and the priest. The groom is an old man dressed in a handsome, somewhat faded suit, with a caustic and condescending expression. With a wrinkled face, dull eyes, and protruding lips, he wears a white bow tie. His gaze is directed toward the bride.
Unlike her husband, the bride, dressed in a lace wedding dress whose shape suggests a crinoline, is very young and petite. Her head is veiled, emphasizing her innocence. Her dark soft skin face and downcast eyes make her particularly touching. She extends her right hand toward the priest so that he can place the wedding ring on her index finger.
Each of the bride and groom holds a small lit candle in their left hand, but only the groom holds it upright.
The priest, hunched over, dressed in a richly embroidered chasuble, glances sideways at a church book and prepares to place the gold ring on the bride’s finger.
Among the guests, the bride’s best man expresses his dissatisfaction with his lowered brow, his disapproving expression, his fixed gaze toward the groom, and his hands crossed over his chest. Among the other figures, we can find Esther’s mother and father.

The artist depicted himself in the man with crossed arms on the far right of the painting, as in the original painting
