DOTr: Motorists may use e-driver’s license, pay traffic fines online

<p><strong>MANILA —</strong> The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday reminded motorists that they may present their electronic driver’s license (eDL) and settle penalties for traffic violations online.</p>

<p>Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said an existing department order requires traffic enforcers to recognize an eDL as valid identification for operating a motor vehicle.</p>

<p>“For example, if you do not have your physical license card but you have an e-driver’s license, and you are cited for a violation, you simply need to show the eDL to the enforcer through the LTMS portal. That is allowed,” Lopez said in a press statement.</p>

<p>The e-driver’s license can be accessed through the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) portal or via the eGovPH Super App, he added.</p>

<p>“The driver must have an account. That’s what you need to access and present to the enforcer. This is also one of the reasons why there is no longer a need to confiscate the physical license,” Lopez said.</p>

<p>The DOTr also reminded motorists that they can pay for violations indicated in a Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP) online.</p>

<p>“The TOP will serve as the basis for the penalty or fine, and that is what you use for payment. And now, you can do that online. This is a way for the government to make public service more convenient,” Lopez added.</p>

#MANILA, #Philippines — The operations of Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (#MRT3) will be suspended from March 28 to 31 for #HolyWeek maintenance activities, the Department of Transportation (#DOTr) announced on Friday.

The last train trips before the maintenance will be on March 27 at 9:30 p.m. from #NorthAvenue Station and 10:09 p.m. from #TaftAvenue Station.
