The podcasts have really been piling up, so I went for a walk to work through them. I even took on the panoramic route and bumped into a friend and her dogs, eventually walking for so long that the rain stopped.

Ein Satz mit X. Hab den #COROS HFM Herzfrequenzmonitor 💓 heute erhalten. Trotz aktueller Firmware und mehrmaligen "Neustart" wird mein Ruhepuls mehr als doppelt so hoch gemessen wie tatsächlich!
Schade, wollte den Puls-Armgurt "gern haben", fühlte sich geschmeidig an, aber so brauch’ ich das Teil nicht mal anschwitzen.
A very cold cycle to Ashton Court for #parkrun this morning (I need better Winter gloves). I had planned to take it easy but got chatting to a local pro who was under strict instructions to run slowly, and was dragged along to a faster time.

An early start to travel down to Farnborough for the England Masters qualification half marathon race. Qualification time for my age category was sub 1:34:30, plus a top 3 finish from the athletes who had put their hat in the ring.
I gave it everything I had and was over 2 minutes under the time (faster than the predictions of both my watch and Strava, even with a slightly long course), but 8th in my age category and 6th of those who'd signed up for consideration.
This was entirely expected, it's a very competitive race and the top 3 who had registered all ran under 1:28, which I've only ever done once in my life, back in 2019 (and the race didn't have a licence so it doesn't count). Fair play to them. At least I proved I can meet the time standard.
38.18 miles (61.46km) run in the week.

Took the risk of cycling to #parkrun this morning in order to preserve both my car battery and where I was parked ahead of a long drive tomorrow (and was rewarded with a space opening up that I can top up the battery from). Took it super steady in the wet and with race day tomorrow.
Took the 5k easy too, but still somehow ended up under 25 minutes with a pleasingly palindromic 24:42. I'm going to put it down to the strides I did in the last 500m. All good signs for tomorrow's race.
