In the discussion about #digitalsovereignty there is an interesting cry for #BuyEuropean, but many of us doubt that that is enough. In software, you (or your organisation or country) being "sovereign" or in control does ultimately not only - or so much - depend on where the HQ of the tech company are located.

The software license is an important part. Not the only one of course. We'd also think of the maturity of the developer community. And, as an enduser, one's control over or stake in the service provider (in case you need one).
