I opened the #Nightscout UI this AM & see it updated w/ #tconnectsync data since last night, so it is working albeit w/ delays.
I’d wanted current #CGM data but if the #tconnect #insulin data is delayed I guess it doesn’t matter. Ultimately I want basal & bolus (actual) & BG in one place so I can do some #DataAnalysis, maybe optimize my rates instead of leaning so heavily on #ControlIQ.
Realtime would be great but not needed for this purpose. Still infuriating access is this restricted. #T1D

Another cartridge failure. There was less insulin in the cart, but I don't think it was quite empty like last time, but likely a discrepancy as to what remains.
So 2 sessions in a row while using temp rates with CIQ+ I had this failure. Prior to that, a session without using the feature went flawlessly.
I'm going to run this next session without the temp rate feature again.

I love that CIQ+ allows me to temp basal now.
I feel like using temp basal is better for a correction when BG isn’t excessively high. CIQ wills till adjust as needed so a bit safer than just taking a straight bolus. It’s a bit slower though.
If my BG is high, though, a correction bolus is still better.
But it’s good to have more control over this.

I did a small experiment this morning.
Since I can now set temporary basal rates with CIQ, when I woke up, before getting out of bed (I often just lay for a bit), I set a 150% basal rate for half an hour. I was above target anyway.
It seems to have blunted my typical FOTF!
I suspect this is how my body would prepare for a cortisol spike, normally.

So Control-IQ+ has 2 main changes that, not only is discussed in press releases, but is part of the update training.
First, the ability to set a temporary basal rate while CIQ is enabled. Previously, this required turning off CIQ.
Second, the ability to do an extended bolus up to 8 hours instead of just 2 hours.
But there were also notes of nebulous “algorithm adjustments" with no details. I think I've run into it being a bit more aggressive to basal rates in response to BG climbing. My BG tends to climb many hours after having some wine (alcohol effect on liver, etc), usually while I'm sleeping, and sleep mode doesn't allow automated correction bolus, so only allows basal rate adjustments. I noticed in the visualization that basal rates looked more aggressive and the high BG didn't last nearly as long as it had in the past.

Mobi wasn’t getting CGM updates and I had no indication prior to the update nor after that anything would have to be done about this.
So… to you Mobi users out there… You might have to reconnect your CGM. It’ll start off indicating it’s doing a warmup again, but the next update interval should show all missed data being pulled in.
Mobi is now updated! Looks like the app update to support the new functionality was probably what came with the update 2 weeks ago, or was already there waiting. So the app already supports the new functionality.
Previously, when going to the temporary basal rate action it would stop you if you had Control-IQ enabled. Now you can set temp rates.
I wasn't sure if the Mobi pump ran the Control-IQ algorithm or if the phone did and communicated algorithmic adjustments to the pump.
I pretty much confirmed the pump runs the algorithm.
My phone lost connection to the pump over night and I didn't notice. I had to force restart the app and watched it backfill the data from the pump.
The pump was still doing its magic all night, including a correction bolus for my FOTF this morning.
Apparently I should be watching for an update to my Tandem Mobi.
Control-IQ+ is supposed to be rolling out this month.
Sleeping with the pump was a non-issue! Hardly noticed it was there.
I did have a compression low, which freaked me out a little because I hadn’t had one in a long time and I worried the pump tried to nuke me. But no, BG check confirmed things were fine.
Stayed flat all night. Now I’m watching CIQ fight this FOTF.

Exercise mode did me solid! I can get used to this, for sure.
Control IQ 1.5 is pending for the T:Slim X2. It has FDA approval and all that.
I can’t find anything about it coming for the Mobi.
Some of the info I read about it looks really nice. I really hope it’s coming for the Mobi.

New sensor, who dis?
Note that on both urgent low alarms waking me up, I checked my blood and I was 111 and 113, respectively. And those spikes aren’t from my eating sugar, but rather my real BG after #Tandem #tslim #ControlIQ cut my #insulin off due to the false lows.
I’m not even sleeping on the sensor, so it’s not a compression low. It’s just #Dexcom sucking.
10 #ControlIQ alerts and 6 low alarms. #FML I am tired.
I really wish I could set a schedule for #ControlIQ. It’s maddening how often it just fucks my afternoon with this bullshit.

It’s hard to say, there’s so many variables. When I’m consistently insulin resistant, I try to make sure I’m hydrated & exercising regularly; that usually solves the issue so long as I’m not sick or on meds. For resistance related to time of day… 🤷♂️. I know I tend to spike in the AM anyway thanks to a dump of cortisol when I wake, which is only exacerbated by work; #ControlIQ handles it fine w/o carbs, but is out of its depth when I eat really any AM carbs.
