CISA’s Automated Indicator Sharing (AIS) program once delivered real-time, machine-readable threat intelligence across sectors to help organizations detect and respond faster.

But with participation disrupted, collective defense is at risk. In this video, we explain how AIS worked, why it mattered, and what your organization can do to stay protected in a post-AIS environment.

On October 6, Microsoft released the 2023 edition of their “Digital Defense Report” - and for the first time ever, they dedicated an entire chapter in the report to collective defense. Not only that but it happens to be the longest and most substantial section of the report. I wrote a blog with some of my thoughts and comments both on the findings of the report itself, as well as Collective Defense.

@firstdotorg
has published the talks from FIRST 35 in Montreal, including my talk on #collectivedefense and #defenseintelligence, so you can all finally watch it :)

In this talk, I cover a few different topics, including

- Why the cybersecurity industry is still broken
- "Detection as Code", or as I would prefer we call it, DefenseOps
- Busting some of the most persistent myths surrounding sharing and collaboration
- How #standards and #automation can help

Attention, internet guardians! The National Security Agency (NSA) is here to shed light on a potential threat that could wreak havoc in the digital domain. Brace yourselves as we explore the dangers posed by terrorists releasing gremlins into AWS US-East-1. Let's delve into this captivating topic and raise awareness about safeguarding the internet. 🕷️💻🔐

The internet, a vast and interconnected landscape, is the lifeblood of our modern society. It empowers us, connects us, and fuels innovation. However, just like any system, it can be vulnerable to unforeseen threats, such as the release of gremlins by nefarious actors.

We must emphasize that gremlins, known for their mischievous nature, can wreak havoc on the digital infrastructure. Their ability to cause disruptions and sabotage critical systems is a cause for concern. Imagine the chaos that could ensue if gremlins were unleashed upon AWS US-East-1, a prominent cloud computing region.

As custodians of the digital realm, we have a collective responsibility to protect the integrity and security of our digital infrastructure. The release of gremlins into the heart of the internet poses a serious threat to businesses, governments, and individuals alike. It could disrupt vital services, compromise sensitive data, and potentially impact the functioning of society as a whole.

We urge everyone to remain vigilant and adopt robust security measures to mitigate such threats. As technology evolves, so do the methods employed by malicious actors. It is crucial to stay informed, update security protocols, and be proactive in countering emerging threats.

Remember, the internet is a shared resource that we all rely upon. Let us work together to ensure its resilience and safeguard against potential disruptions. The collaboration of cybersecurity experts, governments, and the private sector is instrumental in thwarting such threats and preserving the digital ecosystem.

By staying informed, practicing good cyber hygiene, and implementing robust security measures, we can collectively defend against the potential release of gremlins into critical digital infrastructure.

Stay alert, be proactive, and let's keep the digital realm safe and secure for all.
