Looks like the #Renault #Scenic 2 is leaking oil.
I was able to confirm my gearbox reverse light switch repair and gearbox oil change are not the source of this (gearbox still full, lowest spot of the engine is just at the gearbox darin plug thats why the oil goes there).
Cleaned the accessible bottom part of the engine, found that the gaskets of the oil stick failed so ordered a new one and found out that the oil is actually coming right from the top of the engine. To access this part, a special nut and a new air inlet gasket are required. Waiting for those now...
According to some online sources, the screws that hold on the cover are not sealed/tend to leak around the screw head. So just removing one at a time, cleaning the surface and reassembling them with a bit of "gasket maker" could fix this. Cleaning is useful anyways to find out where exactly the oil comes from if this does not fix it.

Today's catch: Alfa Romeo 156 subframe, complete with anti-rollbar and with some rusty lower wishbones to go.
In my experience, the most consistent thing about car repairs is that you expect certain problems along the way, but the by far hardest part is always something you totally did not expect at all.
When working under the car, you expect tightly rusted bolts and grime. There were a couple of tight bolts here but nothing out of the ordinary. What I did not expect is the amount of trouble getting this 20-30kg piece down. Getting it back in place is no doubt going to be fun, but you'd think it would come *down*, right? Not this one, strangely tangled in the rest of the suspension. Probably missing a trick or two here, this being the first time for me.
As a side note, I've been warily eyeballing those lower wishbones for years now, expecting the MOT engineer to complain about them, but they were a ridiculously tight fit still. Going to replace them nevertheless, along with the anti-rollbar bushings, while going through all this trouble...

The lift height of Quickjack, in combination with a garage creeper is such a game changer. Working under the car is suddenly almost pleasant, and so is getting in and out of there.
Spent some quality time down there preparing to lower the front subframe of one of our Alfa 156's, wrestling with stuck bolts of various sizes. And actually looking forward to continue tomorrow.

➖ 5.5 mm hex screws, luckily the bit was at hand, but my 1/4" ratchet is ~1200 km away

Stresses I did not want to deal with today. The tire I had repaired the rim bent again. Now I need to look at getting a new rim and new tires. That’s going to be an expensive time.

EV repair “postcode lottery” leaves huge gaps across South West Wales – with some counties having no certified mechanics at all
A major analysis by Scrap Car Comparison has revealed that while EV ownership continues to surge, several Welsh counties — including Bridgend, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire — have almost no garages certified to safely repair electric vehicles.
Swansea leads locally — but still far behind the UK’s best
Swansea is the only area in the Swansea Bay City Region performing well, with 30% of repair businesses employing at least one IMI TechSafe‑qualified EV technician.
That puts Swansea second in Wales behind Flintshire — but still far behind the UK’s top hotspots, where more than three‑quarters of garages are EV‑safe.
Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire near the bottom
The picture worsens dramatically outside Swansea:
That means drivers in large parts of South West Wales may struggle to find a technician qualified to work on high‑voltage EV systems — something many manufacturers require to maintain warranties.
“A real risk for drivers” — warning from industry expert
Matt Clamp, Customer Service Manager at Scrap Car Comparison, said the findings show how uneven EV support has become across the UK.
He said many drivers assume any garage can safely repair an EV, but the reality is very different.
“Though most garages will likely repair EVs, the data shows that many may not have the appropriate certifications for handling vehicles with high‑voltage electrical systems.
“Some manufacturers require owners to use technicians with the right qualifications to maintain the vehicle warranty. There’s also a risk to business owners and technicians if they’re working on EVs without being properly educated on the risks.”
He urged EV owners to check a garage’s credentials before booking repairs or maintenance.
EV ownership rising — but support isn’t keeping up
Electric vehicles now make up nearly a fifth of new car registrations in the UK, and Wales has seen rapid growth in EV adoption. But the new data suggests the repair infrastructure in many Welsh counties is lagging far behind.
In Pembrokeshire, Bridgend and Carmarthenshire — all with large rural areas — the lack of certified mechanics could leave drivers travelling long distances for specialist repairs.
