As flue/ #covid season seems to kick of currently, do your co-workers still #covidtest when they feel sick? How does your company/team handle this?

Not how I'd ideally like to start my weekend... Feeling absolutely grim. But at least now I know why I kept falling asleep all week.

In other exciting things in today's mail, we received over 300 covid rapid tests from a government surplus program!

I'm currently working with a few friends to get these out where they can do some good.

Just seeing how #COVIDTest.gov and #COVID.gov now go to a WH page spewing the lie about the #LabLeak. FFS. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This fancy new Covid/Flu A/Flu B/RSV test has very detailed Directions For Use, but they omit a significant point: at what stage of proceedings to insert stick in nose. Maybe they just assume we all know the drill by now.
There is a separate section titled Specimen Collection and Preparation which says "For nasopharyngeal swab completely insert the sterilized swab supplied in this kit into the nasal basin" accompanied by a diagram less than two centimetres square.
The sterilized swab provided is 15cm long and, not being a sword-swallower by profession (a humble wordsmith I), I did not completely insert it into my nasal basin, which ought to be more grateful than it feels.

These were $1.57 a box, shipping was $30 but they only took 10 days to get to me from the order date.

$1.57. There were less expensive combo tests, I chose these because they weren’t the LEAST expensive.

Sorry but America is stupid. We were charged $25 for a box of two Covid tests & our government acted like it was doing us a favor when it mailed us a couple of boxes of almost expired tests because people weren’t paying $25 for them.

Get them here before our government finds out and charges them tarriffs or something

The back of that test saying that it comes with one test card one instructions one sterile nasal swab and one pre-filled sample treatment tube.
The part that I was excited about was that these are nice and fresh, they were produced August 2024 and they don’t expire until August 19, 2026

Here's a picture I took today of my main doctor in full Contagion gear. He's seen every Covid patient on the mountain where I live for the past 4 years. He said he only got Covid once and it was from a cruise. The irony is that he's willing to wear this at the office but not on the ship. 🛳️

Virgil Robertson in full Contagion gear on 12.05.2024 giving the thumbs up in his doctors office. I took a Covid test just to humor him but if I knew he dressed like this every day in the main office, I would have gone there sooner. It gave me a good laugh.

Heute im #Jekits Kunterbunt. Viertklässler entschuldigt sich, die Posaunentöne klängen nicht, wie sie sollten, da er so verschleimt sei.
Mit verstopfter Nase und Husten am Ende gesprochen.
Auf meine vorsichtige Frage nach dem übernächsten Hustenanfall, ob er einen #covidtest gemacht habe, winkt er lässig ab: "Nein, nein, so schlimm ist es nicht."
