Completed my first solo bushwhack yesterday. I'm awfully proud. Definitely planned for errors -- had two ponds as backstops, a stream and trail as handrails, and a Garmin for backup nav. Summited a small mountain (~2000 ft), came back down the other side, and stopped for a hot lunch at Clear Pond. Whooped out loud when I spied the blaze for the trail I planned to hike home, exactly where I expected it to be. #FollowYourBearing #PharoahLakeWilderness #Hiking #Bushwhacking #WildernessNav
Finally found a #hiking route to the biggest #swimming hole in the property, and maybe the fourth biggest #waterfall. We saw the tallest from a distance, it will be my next exploration destination. #Hawaii #BigIsland #nature #jungle #bushwhacking
