The latest from @smbmathbiology.bsky.social #BiologyInNumbers: @math.onco's own Ranjini Bhattacharya, working with Joel Brown to study the role of #tumor cell-cell interactions in the context of #metabolism with #TheoreticalBiology #MathOnco

As well as her research I was impressed by @pbiwan's questions and Ranjini's focus on science policy as complement to science #outreach and #scicomm

I am working on my 'recap of 2025' post for the @mathonco.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy blog and found that many of last year's posts had to do with #AI in one form or the other. In this #BiologyInNumbers podcast, @smbmathbiology.bsky.social@bsky.brid.gy president Laubenbacher talks about the promises and challenges for us

Getting ready for the @smbmathbiology.bsky.social annual meeting in Edmonton next week by listening to their #BiologyInNumbers #podcast where @pbiwan interviews University of Alberta's Jay Newby. Some cool stochastic maths and ideas of what to do in the northernmost big city in North America

My commute today, entertained by the latest @smbmathbiology.bsky.social podcast of #BiologyInNumbers by @parmvir.com with @ualberta.bsky.social Mark Lewis. Great reminder of the overlap in tools and research interests between #MathOnco and #MathEcology pca.st/fmr74uh3

On my way to #SMB2024 in Seoul and what a better way to spend the time at the terminal than to listen to @pbiwan interview Siv Sivaloganathan for #SMB 's podcast #BiologyInNumbers ?

Really enjoying this #SMB #BiologyInNumbers podcast episode with Sara Hamis interviewed by @pbiwan where she argues, convincingly, that it is important that #MathOnco modelers show that the models break when challenged outside of the range for which they were designed.

For instance, her model bridging the gap between #invivo and #invitro doesn't work for long timescales given the simplifying assumptions.

I think this is a very important point that is often forgotten
