The term autigender refers to when someone’s gender, or their experience of gender, is influenced by their autism.

Autigender appeared once in the Gender Census, in 2025, when it was chosen by 5.5% of respondents.

Therefore, Autigender is a relatively uncommon term, compared to others that have appeared in the Gender Census.

Autism is sometimes shortened to the prefix “auti-” that can appear before gendered terms, to represent that someone’s autism influences their gender, or how they experience their gender.

This can be seen in compound words such as autigirl, autiboy, autiwoman, or autiman.

🌈 Am 11.10. ist Coming Out Tag. 🌈

Autigender and trans thoughts. I feel as an autistic person, my experience of my body is unique. My understanding of gender is much more systematic. I am going draw conclusions that neurotypicals struggle to empathize with. I feel less invested in conformity, I am not part of the dominant group and have much less to lose by living authentically. #actuallyAutistic #autigender #trans

Gender is far more than a line from "masc" to "fem".

#trans #autiGender #actuallyAutistic

A yellow background is overlaid with a rainbow-colored infinity symbol, which fades from red to violet. The word 'Autigender' is written in a flowing, handwritten-style font above the symbol. Beneath the symbol, in smaller font, is the text: 'Autigender is a neurogender which can only be understood in the context of being autistic or when one's autism greatly affects one’s gender or how one experiences gender. Autigender is not autism as a gender, but rather describes an experience of gender that is so heavily influenced by being autistic that one’s autism and one’s experience of gender cannot be unlinked.’
