Glad I used #Altcha running on my own server to protect the account signup #API for my #AISlop browser extension. Unfortunately I can't log in to my #digitalocean account to check on my droplet because of #Cloudflare 🙄

@overholt #altcha is better, yes it makes you click a captcha but after this, well, you go through, without tracking.

Would love to be able to perform #CrowdSec #captcha with #Altcha, but I don't have the time to modify the CrowdSec HAproxy SPOE code, or create a PHP challenge provider and verifier. So, Anubis it is.
Bonus: CrowdSec could ban you while being redirected to Anubis, during user-agent parsing.

Il ne nécessite pas de résoudre un puzzle ou de cliquer sur des feux de signalisation, mais simplement d’attendre quelques secondes : c’est un captcha « proof-of-work ».

Il fonctionne de la même manière que le plugin Anubis, utilisé par de nombreux logiciels libres ces derniers mois.

You're probably all familiar with this box appearing on sites. But the fact of the matter is they prove nothing, and doesn't make security better., it's just a useless checkbox sites force you to click on that provides no additional security.

A bot can easily be told to click in the precise location area of the checkbox like a regular user by snapping cursor to that position on-screen. Sometimes they give you a Picture Puzzle where you have to click on a series of slow loading image tiles that it wants you to click on.

"Are you a robot?"

Probably? ...If you work a dead-end 9-5 job with no breaks, you're also probably a robot.

reCAPTCHA's are stupid, pointless and unnecessary. But also a privacy nightmare, and should be using ALTCHA, the alternative to reCAPTCHA that is more privacy friendly and user friendly because it uses a Proof-of-Work mechanism of verifying devices without user interaction.

reCAPTCHA is provided by Google, as the extra step to click-a-checkbox mini-game, which sometimes gives you the picture puzzle tiles you must click on to solve the puzzle.

Je cherchais une alternative libre (et qui ne repose pas sur un service tiers) à reCAPTCHA et cie.
J'étais tombé sur ALTCHA:

C'est une bibliothèque toute simple, qui repose sur une preuve de calcul, permettant de bloquer les bots simplistes ou d'augmenter le coût pour les bots plus poussés.

Je l'ai mis en prod chez un client y'a 1 mois.
Pour l'instant les retours sont positifs. À priori ça n'a bloqué aucune personne, et le spam s'est arrêté.
