Ich habe das hier damals im Kino gesehen, weil Ridley Scott für mich zu seiner Zeit eines seiner größten Versprechen war. „Alien“ lag noch wie ein kalter Schweißfilm auf meiner Netzhaut, der „Blade Runner“ hatte alle meine Sinne gerade erst neu verkabelt. Und dann kam dieser Märchenfilm. Einhörner im Fantasy-Wald. Dazu ein sehr junger, langhaariger Tom Cruise. What the fuck? (ZDFneo, Neu)

Ich schwöre, fast niemand hat damals verstanden, was Kenneth Branagh da eigentlich wollte. Ich auch nicht. Zu pompös, zu laut, zu viel Theater. Und ja: genau das war die Wahrheit. Das ist ja kein Horrorfilm im klassischen Sinn. Es ist mehr ein Gefühl. Ein Wutausbruch in Fleisch und Blut. “Electric Dreams” (1984) - 2/4 - #ElectricDreams (not the #PKD series) is fascinating if you can forget that a lot of what is being represented was still a #TechFantasy in the #80s of the yet-to-be-realized market for an #InternetOfThings. There are #touchscreens, #SmartAppliances, #MachineLearning generating art, and tons of #screensavers, all impressively shot by #AlexThomson against a love story that is so insipid it is inspiring, with #LennyvonDohlen and #VirginiaMadison playing the leads.
