@ianrbuck That's the ESR, which doesn't have the Do Not Disturb time fix for mail notifications. This will land in the next ESR in the summer. We're also planning for the snap default to become the monthly release starting this summer, but we do have a monthly/stable channel on snap that you can also try now.

@ianrbuck Are you on ESR or monthly Release? In monthly, mail notifications follow the system default, but unfortunately calendar notifications don't yet. We're working on slowly transitioning to native OS notifications so we can fully respect the OS settings.

@DramatisPaws We know there are K-9 users who love the name and logo. But just think of Thunderbird as the lovable robot dog's next regeneration!

@nielsk Sorry for the late reply! The email addresses are aliases that would all go to the same inbox, so everyone would want their own subscription. And thanks for the feedback on the website, and how we can make things clearer/easier to understand

The recording for my #FOSDEM26 talk is available on the @fosdem website! fosdem.org/2026/schedule/event

Summarising about two years of hard work in 10min wasn't easy, as adding built-in support for Exchange into @thunderbird came with its lot of twists and challenges, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out 😁

A photo of me talking to an audience, with a title slide projected on the wall that reads "A short story of supporting Microsoft Exchange in Thunderbird".

@ck0 Right now you do have to register for the site, but we're also exploring feedback sites that would let people participate more anonymously.

@simondeutschl This is actually what we're planning! An add-on that will be part of our Pro services, so this is very much opt-in.

@ck0 This is on some of team Thunderbird's wishlist too! While we don't have a date or any plans yet, we have a suggestion in Mozilla Connect where you can also show your support and follow any progress if this feature gets picked up for development: connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/m

@Taffer We hope you stay with Thunderbird! Any smart features in Thunderbird, like automated tagging, summaries, and translation, would be part of a completely opt-in, subscription based service that will run in an Add-on to the core desktop app.

@gmc Thanks for all the tiraging and troubleshooting you did. even if we're sorry you had to do it at all! bugzilla.mozilla.org would be the best place to report this so our bug triage team and developers can look into this more deeply. We also have a bug writing guide (bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?) to help!
