Personally, I find guides like this a lot more useful than videos.
whoa dangerous blizzard conditions for the NJ/NY/mid-atlantic area. Stay safe all of you out there, forecast is looking kind of dire.
I keep telling anyone who will listen: the students in my classes are starving for knowledge, for big hard ideas, and for opportunities to actually think and challenge themselves https://harpers.org/archive/2026/03/childs-play-sam-kriss-ai-startup-roy-lee/ #ai
Disney asked "Andor" creator Tony Gilroy not to use the word "fascism" when he was promoting its second season. Now, he's saying it — and talking about how the show's storylines connect to current U.S. politics. "So you get out your 'Fascism for Dummies' book for the 15 things you do, and we tried to include as many of them as we could in the most artful way possible," he told @THR. "How were we supposed to know that this clown car in Washington was going to basically use the same book that we used? So I don’t think it’s prescience so much as the sad familiarity of fascism and the karaoke menu of things that you go through to do it. You could list them from the show, or you could list them from the newspaper."

Hot take, so controversial it counts as trolling: all notifications should default "off". Anything that can interrupt or distract the person using a computer or other device should be explicitly turned on by that person.
There are exceptions for things that can cause serious harm if ignored. "You've got mail" is not an exception. Neither is "someone liked your social media post".

My favourite piece of internet today is the theory that Jesus was actually a type of yeast.
Turns water into wine
Floats on water
Makes bread for 5000 people
Put in a cave for 3 days and lo - he has risen!
Jesus was a sourdough starter.
Also this would imply: We should be calling him 'Mother' not 'Father'

“The “author” abstraction is breaking, and that’s load-bearing for the entire [software development] flow. Code review assumed someone wrote the code and could explain it… When the author is an AI agent, review shifts from “check a colleague’s logic” to “reverse-engineer unfamiliar code written by a system that can’t explain its choices.” That’s a fundamentally different cognitive task, and it’s slower per line, not faster — even as the volume of code to review goes up.”

Just found a super neat podcast about #MorseCode .. Dude over at "CW Corner" does a really good job. There are only a few episode, and they are on the short side, but they're really fun.
