Rise and Shine. #myart acrylic #paint on a small canvas. A couple posts back I made a pencil drawing and decided I wanted to duplicate it with paint on a canvas. This is what came of that. I find it hard to do the same thing, I would rather go with the new ideas that come up in the process of creating it. It was also a small canvas so less room for detail.

Sketched with #oilpastels thirty something years ago, out at Mt Hope, Victoria, #Australia , near to where I grew up. Our Nan used to take us out (and our cousins) climbing here regularly. She would lead the way to the top in her 60's.

I miss walking with dogs.

I used to take my young 2 dogs on long walks (2-3hrs or so), I found that I had to break more regularly with them as their long distance stamina didn't match mine. They were staffy-cross, and about 2 years old at the time.

I've read the books but haven't seen this particular link before, it looks very useful, thank you for sharing that. Have a great day :)

There's a series of books called 'the ringing cedars' series (aka 'Anastasia books) that promotes the idea of 'kins domains'. The idea is that a hectare of land is enough for a family to live on and share from, and that this could be passed down and kept in the family through generations. I love the idea. It goes more in depth, like conceiving and giving birth on your little piece of earth. It also goes as far as saying if everyone was given a hectare for this purpose (not to sell but to keep in the family) then many if not all the worlds problems could be solved. I was born in a hospital in Sydney, moved house a few times, then we moved to a small town in northern victoria. I have family ties there and the area feels a bit like home, but we moved house a few times there too. Into my adult life and I have moved house countless times. Looking forward to having my own little piece of the earth and providing this permanent space for my sons.

I've recently committed to practicing art daily, currently still in my comfort zone - I have a series of pencil geometric drawings like this one in A3 sketchbooks. I'm going to try something similar to this with canvas and paint next.
