The range of skills, particularly data literacy and wrangling, as well as parallel compute, are not always parts of typical CS majors. I have taught data vis and parallelism in the ICAM (Department of Visual Arts) for over 15 years, and my colleagues in computing in the arts have been vanguards understanding AI in art for a long time. (No, you all just thought #genai... It is complicated...)

@GhostOnTheHalfShell @ai6yr tnx, yes. My sensibility is literal. I know a person who turned down a tenure track academic gig in the #USA to start a fabrication factory in Guadalajara. Because it is obvs a much more worthwhile life for the talented to get in early with the next industrial revolution (in a place w/o tariffs on machine tools) than it is to teach CAD students to print plastic toys in #Texas. That is where we are.

5 things, one day! Large number actually. These things reminded me that the #USA is a dying nation. Some of these are political, but three of these are so minor. Simple little things that do not work here any longer...
We have an unemployment crisis, yes. But also many of the people who *are* employed are not only not empowered to solve simple things, they perhaps not able to see their own exploitation. I was kind to them.
