@SingsongRaptor I highly recommend going with a model that has a closed cuff that tilts. it's also basically mandatory to upgrade the tips to tornado tips - it makes a HUGE difference in comfort, they are absolutely worth the price. standard crutch tips basically have no shock absorption and crappy traction.

you may want to also take a look at the ergobaum 7G crutches - my partner has them and likes them.

@SingsongRaptor Hi! I'm a long term forearm crutches & wheelchair user. I usually just use one, but sometimes both depending on my needs. for me, they're way superior to a cane because the weight is distributed more evenly and stably, and with a closed cuff it hangs off my arm when I need to use my hand, which is great.

I use walk easy ref. 490 crutches, which are no longer available, but that should give an idea of what I'm talking about.

@WordenPond that's awesome! mine is also an heirloom German hardneck, and even before curing it's super delicious. I'm definitely planting more in the fall.

@WordenPond there's 20 in the photo, i have 3 more harvested, and 5 or 6 that weren't ready! pretty good for just scattered between plants in a 3x6' bed!

been not very online lately but! i harvested most of my #garlic yesterday. It's my first year growing it and I'm so excited. I hope it stores well!

@sheepchase pretty well! I never see anything about the former US pres. (unless it's extremely vague and doesn't mention him by name)

NEWS: Here is a page put together by Knitty, supporting the many vendors and instructors who just got screwed by the sudden bankruptcy of Stitches. If you are planning a purchase, buying from one of these folks will really help them out.

💞🧶🙏 A great big thank you to @knittymag@counter.social for pulling this together! 🙏🧶💞

@flowers this reminds me of the Knit For a Unique Fit group, where knitters make custom gloves and mittens for people with limb differences.

@lia_pas hi, welcome!

I'm not great about posting my projects, but I'm a knitter/embroiderer/general fiber artist. I am an admirer of medical illustration and nerd for medical history, also! I can't promise a lot of content though.

Game help, please. Dad is stuck in hospital in US & bored out of his mind. I’m in UK. Need a turn taking game (like words with friends, but he hates word games).

He loves traditional games like dominoes & cards, but would like something new. He’s very unwell, anything complicated will go in the bin. His vision is ok, but tiny text will be a problem. We both have an iPhone.

Suggestions?

Retoots with helpful hashtags very appreciated thank you, I don’t know what to type 🫠
