@DanielMenjivar @sewing thank you! I didn't know you had a channel. I will definitely check it out.
@TazPoltorak @sewing Maybe this chapter-marked #sewing video will be helpful to you?

@jjcelery @DanielMenjivar @artcollisions @elfkin @sewing fucking right it is!
@DanielMenjivar @artcollisions @TazPoltorak @elfkin @sewing that's a fucking fantastic write-up, excuse my French! :blobcataww: :chefkiss:
@jjcelery @artcollisions @TazPoltorak @elfkin @sewing I’ve sewn several pairs of both the Jedediah pants and Quadra jeans from Thread Theory and personally found the #sewing instructions easy to follow. The order of operations is not the greatest, but I would recommend following it the first time.
Here’s an old blog post from Thread Theory about the differences between their several pants patterns: https://threadtheoryblog.wordpress.com/2020/04/26/comparing-our-trouser-pant-patterns/
@RobotDiver @sewing Thank you. But that’s actually a cordless electric fabric cutter in the photo, not an iron! 😉
I love your iron!
I'm trying to conceptualize a spring/summer wardrobe with fewer black elements. Not because I want to be less goth, but because I sometimes have to go outside when it's hot and sunny and I don't want to melt into a puddle every time. (Yes, I do notice a difference between black and non-black colors, although fiber content is important, too; which is why I also want to incorporate more cotton/linen wovens into my spring/summer wardrobe.)
If I go with the capsule wardrobe principle of "basic pieces in mainly neutral colors", I run up against the fact that white is impractical for me, and also I doubt whether I look good in it.
I look meek and the bad kind of pale in greys and most warm tones.
Off-white/the color of unbleached cotton might work. Cool-toned browns might work, too.
I have already concluded that navy blue is functionally a neutral color for me, but it's also still very dark.
I haven't messed around with patterns and prints a lot, so there might be room for exploration.
What would you do, fellow clothes DIYers? Say "screw the rules" and grab some jewel tones (I love those)? Or treat this as a "limitation fosters creativity" thing?
Having a room like this. A place for your ideas and materials. That’s gold.
I couldn’t sleep last night, so at 3 a.m. I decided to sew new hems on some dinner napkins that had frayed edges. Some easy, mindless #sewing…
Why did the edges fray so badly? I don’t know.
They’re all different sizes now, but at least they’re usable again. The smaller ones are better for lunches or snacks anyways. @sewing
@Janet_52square @sewing looks nice. Good luck with it. 😃
