@mergesort As to Shortcuts - I was hoping to just use them for automations, before realizing Codex had it built in.
The most obvious thing to happen is for Apple to create an MCP wrapper around Shortcuts/App Intents, so our AI of choice can use them as they see fit. Of course, I was expecting that last year...
@mergesort Love this - I've had it in the back of my head that I'd like to start leveraging AI to do simple nightly things like this, but also to help with marketing - i.e. - scan some recent social media sites, and suggest threads that I might be able to contribute to.
I hadn't seen the 'Automations' feature of the Codex app (I've been disappointed that none of the tools provide Shortcut support), but your note that you give it access to your roadmap just flooded me with ideas. Time to build!

Interesting to see Xcode’s Agentic AI using the terminal to run `xcodebuild` directly — this is good news, because I know many dev’s who have created custom wrappers for this command, because its output is so verbose, even AI’s can’t parse it easily. This dogfooding should lead to improvements 🤞

Xcode’s new Agentic support looks very promising, but am I missing something around permissions? Is the only way to get Terminal commands to run freely to allow ALL terminal commands?
This seems crazy for a company like Apple - I can’t believe they shipped this without fine-grained permissions

@twcau It is - it can be used entirely on it's own, but if you connect to Apple Health (which is part of the onboarding), you can choose to use a smart scale or a different app to log your weight, report symptoms, and will pull in workouts from any other app that are logged in Apple Health.
There's even a screen where I recommend a few other Indie Apps that work with Apple Health - the ecosystem is super flexible, so you can use whatever tool works best for you!
