Hej, it's me, a Nerd living in the south of Germany. I am a father of three and enjoy riding my #Gravelbike in my spare time. For a living, I make machines see. I love building Embedded Linux Systems with the #Yocto build system. As a side project, I do learn #Danish and #Golang.
Don't forget about #Hetzner cloud! @Hetzner_Online's updated CLI is rolling out to @fedora as well.

@davemangot I red it, I just wanted to share my view on the topic. I grew up in a environment where I was used to have this time free of use. Now most of the companies in my area are closed during this period. Thus the different cultures.
@davemangot For me the time between X-Xmas and new year is a important time to recover. I would rather resign from my job than work during this period of time. I get the idea of the hack week but prefer to do explore stuff in my own pace without the need to show up in the office. This may depend on each individual cultural background, I also understand that people see no need to be forced to stay away from work during this time cause companies have closed.
@cprass I was kind of confused by the way the 8 points were calculated.
@cprass the multiplication scheme or are there more gems? Asking for a friend

The lost art of structure packing #golang #rustlang #clang
Wonderful piece

@mafe @fledermama Das sieht gut gut aus. Tinygo ist in meinen Augen perfekt für Einsteiger. Man braucht lediglich etwas Anleitung für die Basics. Wo hattest Du die meisten Schwierigkeiten?
👻 New (spooky) episode of Go Time!
@shadowgophr’s GopherCon talk “7 Deadly Gopher Sins” is the ostensible basis of this spooky Go Time episode, but with Mat Ryer at the helm… the only thing to expect is the unexpected.
And failed jokes. Expect lots of failed jokes. ☠️
@amanjeev Have you considered to use an Raspberry PI to compile the code on. I guess the armv7 platform does not scale well for an cloud service provider.
@cprass @chriscochrun Absolutely, CMake is a complex, but powerful beast. We do use it on a daily basis and it solves all of our uses cases. I prefer CMake over all its alternatives, but totally agree the documentation is not the best
@chriscochrun @cprass Ah, I got it. It is not related to complex tools it is more to get the code right. I personally have not done very much work on #rust . I just es played a little bit with the borrow checker. I will definitely give it more attention, especially when it comes to cross comping which is my daily business.
@chriscochrun @cprass uh if rust is harder to compile than c++ then they have made something wrong. Yes to programm c++ you have to master this otter language called CMAke. I really love the simplicity of #golang but the borrow checker is a really nice feature I would love to have in any language
