@touk @ryan "average human only uses 12% of their email" factoid actualy just statistical error. average human uses 0% email per day. Email Georg, who lives in cave & reads over 10000 emails each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

Can you imagine if C were an actual serious programming language?

@linuzzz yeah, Flatseal will only work for flatpaks; use the CLI.

Last week the GTK developers held a hackfest in Brussels, to discuss and plan for the next 12 months. You can read the report on the GTK development blog: blogs.gnome.org/gtk/2026/02/06

@linuzzz the portal stores the permissions in the same database as flatpak, since flatpak needs to be able to know what is available before creating the sandbox. All permissions are identified by the application id.

The Guardian has a piece on British typographer and graphic designer Margaret Calvert, who’s (partially or wholly) responsible for the British highway signage typeface (Transport), the British Rail typeface (Rail Alphabet) and the pictographs on British road signs, and whose autobiography is also out:

@purpleidea no; I’ll have to try it next time

@laund @christophbegall we cross compile for Android, but keeping the CI happy on Windows and macOS with the Rust toolchain is its own full time job. We do that because we depend on AccessKit for accessibility anyway.

The main reason we don’t use librsvg is, though, that it does not allow us to use the rendering primitives we use for widgets, and that it does not support animations.
