Why yes I would absolutely have been burned at the stake in the Middle Ages

A fluffy white cat lies curled up on a bed - he was napping peacefully but has cracked his eyes open and looks rather annoyed to be photographed. Behind him lies a besom broom (I'm packing to teach a broom making course at the weekend)

"A daily walk is good for you!" they say.
So we went into the blowing snow..

@WuMargaret ugh, so sorry to hear it feels worse 💜

25/02/2026 - Evening walk after work on the back roads. Twilight for most of the way, dark by the end. Nice to see lots of bats flying about again. I've missed them. They look to be from a different place. Such strange little things.

#EveningWalk

As the bats were moving too fast in the fading light for a photo, here's a snap of a pheasant sitting high up in the trees we were walking under.

An enthusiastic clematis and water drops in lupine leaves. The Armand's clematis is the first to bloom around here. And I love how water drops always sit in the middle of lupine leaves
#Photography #SeattleWashington #SeattleSpring #SeattleParks #MapleLeafPark #BloomScrolling

An Armand's clematis vine growing on a fence is full of creamy white flowers. The four to six petaled blooms open to reveal pale yellow anthers. The buds are light green, and grow on sinuous red stems. The dark green, shiny oval leaves reflect some blue from the sky. This year the clematis are so full of flowers it's amazing.Broadleaf lupine (Lupinus latifolius), growing in the park's naturalized area, is leafing out. The palmate leaves have up to 10 leaflets, covered with downy hairs. Many of the leaves in this image have a water drop at the center, trapped and misshapen by the hairs at the point where the leaves radiate. It makes them look like jewelry

Farbe: Orange und blau
/ Color: Orange and Blue

This was an art inlay and a piece of furniture that I saw many years ago and still think it is really cool #NYC #Photography #AltText

A color photo that is a close-up of a resin abstract design that was in laid in a table. The background is white and the artist has taken some sort of paint and dripped large round blobs of orange all over the place with smaller blobs of a dark blue mixed in with a light yellow. It's very abstract and looks like little beads underneath a layer of clear resin

Shallow shore.
#WavyWednesday

Shallow waters coming in over dark beige sand and tiny rocks at a shore. There are small wavelets and ripples in two different directions crossing each other, and many ripples and eddies over the submerged and uneven sands underneath. Many complicated ripple shapes in the water are highlighted by sunlight above which sharpens and defines them. Toward one side of the photo there are wide ripples also tinged with blue light, reflections of the sky.

I've been thinking that Gen Ai tends to pull everything to the middle. That is either good or bad, depending on where you start relative to said median.

I start above it in most english language tasks, so there's no value in it.

I am not great at illustration, and theoretically, it would be cool to describe exactly what i want and get an illustration instead of wading through stock photos.

I don't because i respect the work that goes into creating illustrations.

This infographic about how to pick up a snail is going viral, but it was AI-generated and numerous biologists have chimed in to say it is wrong.

(I previously boosted it, but have un-boosted. The post author has been informed, and *edit: has deleted the post!)
