Lawyers don't lie

A lawyer had a wife and 12 children and needed to move.

When he said he had 12 children, no one would rent a home to him because they thought that the children would destroy the home.

He could not say that he had no children, He could not lie, after all, lawyers cannot and do not lie.

So, he sent his wife for a walk to the cemetery with 11 children.
He took the remaining one with him to see homes with the Real Estate agent.

He liked one of the homes and the agent asked:

"How many children do you have?

He answered: "12 children.

The agent asked "Where are the others?

The Lawyer answered, with a sad look, "They are in the cemetery with their Mother.

And that's the way he was able to rent a home for his family without lying.

I saw Nani Vazana in concert on Friday night at KPAC in Kirkwood, MO. Amazing singer 😄

Most of her songs were in Ladino but she also covered Sting's "Shape of My Heart" and did a jazz number.

She is touring the US and Canada for the next couple of months.

No, Virginia, there is no Santa Claus. But, yes, we can have a world where fewer people die violently. It just takes planning and effort.

@GottaLaff And on the same day, Helsinki just announced a full year without any traffic deaths at all. It is *possible* to move society toward a reality where fewer people die violently.

But here in America, we choose to just live with (pun intended) the constant drumbeat of violent deaths... by guns... by vehicles... by drugs... etc....

It's time for more thoughts 'n' prayers, folks. Keep 'em coming. That always makes everything better.

But better than thoughts and prayers is this tidbit from a book that I value highly:

Pray as if everything depended on God.
Act as if everything depended on you.

I have been experimenting with a vintage black & white style edit for photos. To see the effect, you really need a screen that is larger than a phone, a laptop or maybe a full size iPad.

What do you think of this one? Interesting? WTF? Something else?
