Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend LAC (Linux Audio Conference) this year, but wanted to share the link with you nonetheless:

Good news! Our replacement ice cream machine has finally arrived! 🥳
Now we’re seeking Thai team members to join our Ice Cream Lounge near the Khao raa waterfall.
If you’re interested—or know someone who might be—please send us a DM and ask for the job profile! 🥹
Thanks so much for your patience and support—we can’t wait to get started! 🤗
P.S. If you really can’t wait, DM us for a 1:1 ice cream tasting! 😋
@kierudsen My thoughts exactly. Can't wait to try it myself. 🙏
@elsemusic @frigginglorious I did not use it myself, so can't really comment, but made an interview with them a while ago for @linuxaudiodevelopment, see: https://linuxaudio.dev/n-track
Driving myself a little mad again. It's part of my job, I guess.
If there were flies in winter, I could hear them fart. Or at least I'd believe I could.
And louder always sounds better, so when I have the #Voxengo #Elephant as mastering limiter after that #Korneff #Sitral Klangfilter, I can easily fool myself by just 0.8dB more output…
Some people call it #Mastering, for me it's just part of the entire recording/mixdown thing. Trying to make it as best as it can get, sound-wise…
… so that folks can pump up their iPhone speakers and enjoy.

@frigginglorious Well, I’m a fan of Bitwig. ☺️ You might want to try one of the smaller editions first to see if you like it. Check out the feature list here: https://www.bitwig.com/feature-list/.
You can also browse a wider range of digital audio workstations at https://linuxdaw.org/?t=daw. In addition to the usual options, such as Ardour, Reaper, and Studio One, there are some great alternatives to discover, like e.g. Zrythm or n-Track, just to name two.
During a short break, I checked out Soundbox by Audiomodern (available for #linuxaudio! 😜).
Without going into too much detail, it looks like a really interesting and well-made #sample #library #instrument—somewhat in the same space as Kontakt or Falcon, both of which are currently unavailable on #linux.
Check it out here:

Last year I claimed in an interview that there is no 1176 vintage compressor #plugin for #Linux.
I'm happy to report that I was wrong: https://www.acmt.co.uk/products/download-acm76sa/index.html

So software vendors: Support Pipewire already. Support the transition of these functions in the development of Linux.
This seems like the Xorg / Wayland fight all over.
"We can't support it, it's not good enough yet"
- But then support it and make it good. You are missing out on competent people joining (y)our community because the price of joining is too high.
Recently, I encountered a rather surreal situation on my #thinkpad Z16 AMD where my #arch #linux system running #gnome would no longer accept my #password. 😲
As I have since discovered, this was caused by pam_fprintd and a fingerprint authentication process that was repeatedly failing without me noticing. 🫣😅
After having to reboot several times into an #emergencytarget, I have now completely disabled the fingerprint sensor. 🙃
@mosgaard @linuxaudiodevelopment Great idea! I put it on my list for now. 😎
"What PipeWire will eventually be is what users of Windows and macOS must continue dreaming of."
Finally got around to reading this really great interview with @nielso by @amadeus on @linuxaudiodevelopment
Looking at my own still limited experience with Linux, reading about Niels' knowledge about audio (and more) on Linux, is really like going from Noob to PRO (as my son would call the reactionvideo on Youtube, if someone made one).
Really inspiring: https://linuxaudio.dev/linux-audio-artists-spotlight/niels-ott
@transicorn True, it is funny. 😁
@transicorn I think you can select "Not using Windows" and "Not using macOS".
@aj ☺️
