With a vendor's cry of "ICE CREAM!", Speedball is back for a new generation of gamers.

But is it worth donning the armour and getting back into some Brutal Deluxe action?

Here's my full review of Speedball 2026 at Digitally Downloaded!

@MrAndrewD Correct. You win the air that was inside the box of the Nothing Headphones. Shipping will cost extra, though.

For my latest phone review I leave no stone unturned (including Trapezoids, Battery Tests, Stretchy Cats and of course Super Bob) as I test out the Honor 400 Pro.

Is this mid-range phone worth buying?

For the record (I made this public elsewhere previously) -- I'm not entering the Australian IT Journo awards (AKA "The Lizzies") this year; I feel like the time has come to step aside and let fresher faces compete. But if that describes you, you TOTALLY should enter.

@whybird Australian consumer law is broadly similar. I'd consider it, but I suspect the realities of international law would mean any fees I'd have to pay would outweigh any benefits.

I wrote last week about the ABYSMAL experience I had hiring a car through SIXT in a lengthy review.

SIXT got back to me, and I do believe in the right of reply, so I’ve updated the article with their thoughts (and my response to same)

Watching Johnny Mnemonic. It won't have dated terribly, right?

The longest review I’ve written in years; Recently I travelled through the UK in a rented #EV, hired from #SIXT.

To call it disastrous would be something of an understatement.

Under no circumstances should you use SIXT for any car hires, period.

Here’s why.

@DavidPenington 100%, of course all of that is also true -- but in my case the cost per km travelled that should have been incurred by me should have been 0c. It adds up (and when you're travelling, the luxury of slower and cheaper home charging isn't always feasible for both accessibility and time pressure reasons). I don't object to public chargers being expensive, I do understand they're not free to build, maintain and run.

@octothorpe Have you checked the site for Robert Smith or Rebecca Black droppings? That's the scientifically approved way to be sure.

Review time, as I use a recent global trip to test out Simify's Global eSIM service for speed and reliability purposes... as well as a little fun on the way.

Finally got the opportunity to play Bubble Bobble on the BBC Micro. Is it the best version of Bubble Bobble? Hardly. But it is Bubble Bobble, and so therefore it's the best game on the system. That's just the way it is. #retrogaming

@stilgherrian As if the surname wasn't a dead giveaway, apparently I'm an Echidna. I've been rumbled at last...

@timrichards Interesting read, though I think there's a distinct line here between what we would like to think of as Australian characteristics ("fair go") etc... and what actually happens. The Luggage carousel one in particular; anecdotally I can't count the number of times I've had Aussie locals barge infront, block views, be boorish, etc...

Random thing to see on a train in 2026: Someone watching a movie on their device. Ok, maybe not that random you think... but this was a UMD movie on a PlayStation Portable. #retrogaming #PlayStation

I for one hope that King Charles leans into his self professed comedy favourites of his youth and replaces the King's Speech with a classic Goon Show script.

It could only improve matters. I reckon he'd do a great Bloodnok impression.
