Colours

A pair of colourful crochet projects laid out together: a granny‑square blanket made of small red, yellow, blue, and purple squares, and a ripple‑stitch piece with bold wavy stripes in turquoise, pink, green, orange, and more. A ball of yellow yarn sits nearby, showing the blankets are still in progress.

The current NHS trust I’m working for went completely paperless in October.

This, as you can imagine, was a complete culture shock for old folks like me who are used to writing in paper notes and prescribing in paper drug charts.

It was a great move by the way, things are *much* better now obviously.

However, there is one draw back!

I’ve no idea what the date is 😅😅😅

Because the system automatically populates date and time on any entry that we do, we no longer need to know the date 😅😅😅

Compared to the last 25 years of working in the NHS where everything I did had to be documented with a date, time and signature, because, as we all know that famous manager line: IF IT’S NOT WRITTEN DOWN IT DIDN’T HAPPEN 🙄🙄🙄

“And what are the Arabs?”

It is the year 2032, and a father and his son walk the streets of lower
Manhattan.
Approaching the site where the WTC used to be in the end of the 20th
century, the father sighs and comments, "to think that right here usedto
be the Twin Towers..."
The son, not understanding, asks his father: "What are the Twin Towers?"
The father smiles and looks at the son, and explains, "The Twin Towerswere
two huge buildings that used to be here until 2001, when the Arabs
destroyed them."
The son looks up to his father, and asks, "And what are the Arabs?"

The good news: ripple #crochet blanket is going well.

The bad news: my gauge is too big so this has used up almost a whole cake of yarn, and I’ve only got four more to add 😅

I think I might need to get more to make it a good size.

A long, narrow crochet ripple strip lies on a wooden floor between a leather sofa and a patterned rug. The wavy rows shift through blue, green, red, and orange, with a strand of green yarn still attached at one end.

Now that the demo is out on Switch 2 also, I hope more folk play this. It’s great fun.

@irgndsondepp @UKFilmNerd I live in unfounded hope that one day there’ll be something good.

Also I’m trying to train my ears for the Metallica No Repeat Weekend I’m taking my son to later this year 😅

@irgndsondepp @UKFilmNerd I paused listening to Faithless to listen to about 20 seconds of this before my nose started to bleed.
