Frosty
I love the outdoors and prefer critters to people. Proud to be an #ally in redneckland. #ElbowsUp
Baby burb got greedy.
He's maybe 20cm.
(he was released to grow larger and wiser 😉 )
A baby burbot cleans up old bait off bottom. He's probably well under 30 cm.

Second pic is my supper. Don't swipe if a bit of blood bothers you.

Today's view. Burbot spawn is just starting. Fishing has been slow, only landed 6 or 7 even though I've seen 3 or 4 times that many. That isn't stopping me from loving the day.

By this weekend or the one after, the action will be crazy. This is my favorite part of hardwater season.

Good to see you and DT on here! I hope you are doing well.

It's sad and weird, but nowadays my default is to distrust all Americans UNLESS I've seen them publicly denounce the current fascist gov't. It makes me very happy knowing you two are some of the good ones. :)
I've reported this lying spammer. Why do jerks do this stuff?
Good on ya. I admire folks that can be that selfless.

I've found my bark getting a little thicker. I'll teach someone to fish if I can, but I'm tired of giving the ones I've caught away to no effect.
I've seen them popping out of snow tunnels quite often this winter. I hadn't realized tree rats are also snow rats. :)
"Sure I have some wood, but the February price is twice the October price even if it is only aspen."
;)
I appreciate you, bud.
Cats that come onto my property are live trapped and removed just like any other invasive species would be. I'll never understand people who feel that their pet should be allowed to roam freely on OTHER PEOPLES' property, nor will I accept it.
Bryan showing off his cock...😜
I started by putting food out near them and slowly building trust. I would look at them and talk to them.
By the time I read you aren't supposed to look right at them, I already had success doing the opposite.
A big thing is to never try to be sneaky. Move slowly, but if they think you are trying to fool them they won't trust you.

If you look at my history, there are lots of photos of my corvid pals. :)
Good luck to your wife!
My favorite creature!
So smart, so social, so aware...
My relationship with my local crows is one of the things I enjoy most about my life out here. :)
It looked familiar...
Took me a minute:
Yeah, we've had a long run of evil/stupid leadership in this province, but at least I had Monday off. ;)
About two weeks left and she's frosting up nicely. This Charastar had branches with strange, twisted foliage throughout its growth, but still looks like it will produce some lovely medicine.

While it is a Monday here in Alberta, Canada, it is also the Family Day holiday, so one more day of indolence for me. :)

I hope you have a wonderful, Trump free week, Ciara.
Not the best pics I ever took, but oh well.
Went to a new lake today and managed to ice 3 species, perch, pike, and walleye.
I love finding out of the way lakes that only the locals fish. :)

The middle finger on my right hand has a bunch of scrapes from pike teeth. My index finger has a circle of punctures from another slough shark on Wednesday. As always, I carry these little souvenirs as happy reminders of good times. :)
It took a few hours but eventually I figured out what the pike wanted. The walleye stayed fussy though.
It was a beautiful, peaceful day on the ice. :)
