So I self-inserted myself into somebody else's car project...
And look, I love projects. I thrive with troubleshooting,
But when the initial issue ends up being a dead battery before the ride-along, it really takes the wind out if my sails. The car's from the 90s, so at least the electrical issues are manageable with diagrams, screwdrivers, and a multimeter.

I'm stoked that they have the FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL for the car. Chilton and Haynes I still swear by, but the nutcases who made the car also helped make the book, so it's primary source for the fuckery I will encounter.

EDIT: Thanks for all the boosts, but I've reached the point where im angry enough at both the fediverse and people in general that I don't think I'll sell them after all, im just going to send both to scrap (yes, im angry enough to trash two really good vehicle bodies out of spite)

Does anyone on fedi in the US Pacific Northwest want a 1989 Toyota Van project (needs and ecu and maybe wiring work) or a 1991 Subaru Justy (motor is rebuilt out of the car, it needs another justy to take the oil pump from). Im located in Oak Grove Oregon just south of Portland.

The truck was backed off the drive under its own power then reversed back down so the rear could be jacked up on the flat ground. The brakes drag, the tyre pressures are low, there is no power steering.
Finally I looked at the sill end that needs repaired and felt despair. It will be done, it will be done. In time. #unedifying #projectcar #rust

Hi CBR, south East NSW folk - I have a Datsun Stanza 1981 that has a shot gearbox and rear diff, an L16 in it and a tiny bit of body rust - I was hoping for it to be a project car, but I no longer have that luxury.
Anyone want it?
The plan was to strip it out, stitch weld it and put an SR20 and gearbox in it from a 200sx and a diff from a r31 Skyline in it to make it a sideways car.

My buddy Rich has a 307 Chevy engine and a T5 transmission he needs a car to hold it up.
I found what looks similar an MG td.
Home built rails with leaf springs in back and a mustang II front susp.
Untouched fiberglass body, basically a tub with molded front and rear fenders.
I emphasize *untouched* because that means you don't have to deal with op's hacks!

Edit: this one wasn't meant to be. But I'm still looking for a 300zx. Someday. Kitty pics will remain

I haven't posted here in a while but I accidentally finished the Prius swapped Corvair. It now runs and drives, goes into EV and hybrid modes and is pretty quick too in my short test drives.

Now I need to finish the inside!

It has been a while since I've posted here. My #corvair #prius #projectcar now rolls! I believe this is the first #midengine #hybrid #electric Corvair. The seats are Recaros rescued from a crashed Audi!

Next steps are finishing up the welding, mounting the floor and seats, finishing the wiring and interior, plumbing the brakes cooling systems and fuel supply, and getting the remote rear steering to work. #corvairius here and on corporate social media if y'all want to see more.

So I got a new mirror-less camera, so of course I’m just going to take photos of my #Fiat #EVConversion #ProjectCar. Still lipstick on a pig because of the paint, but overall, a really fun car to drive #X19.

Grandpa always meant to give it to me but his dementia got to him and he gave it to some kid in his town. 15 years later that kid sold it back to me (for the price of the tires and starter he put in it). I am so freaking happy this is back in the family.
